Archos 605 only one channel of audio

I just got the archos 605 with DVR and when listening through headphones the recorded shows only come through one side of the headphones (one channel) and when watching movies from DVD the sound only comes from the other headphones.

Anyone know why this is happening and how I can resolve?

i have this exact same issue. i first thought the head unit in my car had a problem until i tried headphones and there's only one channel of audio. i'm looking around to see if there're any resolutions but it looks like a replacement is going to have to be ordered.
