Hi, this is my first post.
I want to change my previous PMP (Phillips Go gear 2GB) with bigger capacity and better sound quality. my option are Samsung P3 and Sony Walkman s738 (yeah they are already oldschool), please give me enlighting for my option. I already tried walkman, the sound was so great but i don't really like its headset look like (I already read that NC only work with supplied headset). thx b4 for your repplies. |

Hi. There is a lot you can do with sound enhancements and DNSe3 on the P3.
It sounds really good - as do Sonys. A lot will depend, however, on which iems/phones you use. |

If you judge sound quality of a player by the stock earbuds that come with it, then you really don't have to worry about one player sounding better than another...

Sony and Samsung both sound great....the P3 is more "tweakable" though. But as dfkt said, stock earbuds almost always suck.
![]() Welcome to ABI, btw.

I don't think there's a current score. Both players sound fine. However sound quality depends MUCH more on the quality of the headphones you're going to use and the quality of your audio files. The player's sound quality almost doesn't matter compared to those two factors. Most decent players you can buy nowadays sound fine right out of the box (or, almost the same). As Marvin and Dreamnine said above, some have more and/or better EQ/enhancement tweaks, others have less. But for a quantitative approach, you'd be hard pressed to notice a lot of differences between players when all their sound enhancements are off.
So, the real question is, are you going to use the stock earbuds that came with the player, and/or are you going to use 128k MP3s on the player?

If you're just using the stock iems, then the Sony will sound much better.

I to was looking for one, but either no one had it in stock or they wanted an outrageously high price. Would you mind if I ask you where you bought it? Thanks!
