[Music UCI] Dark Evolution (WIP)

This music UCI is work in progress, so you can't download it yet.

Well, I stopped working on Aero Ultimate because I think it's almost perfect now. I developed it too long, surely more than half a year, and I wanted to code something else.

This music UCI will have the following features amongst others:
- Horizontal view
- Integrated browser
- Track preview

In the current build, Dark Evolution already supports all things all other music UCIs have (or don't have):

• Basic and advanced playback control: Play, pause, etc; physical buttons; playback speed and volume slider (touch and swipe to change volume/playback speed); A-B repeat; and all other things which belong to basic and advanced playback control

• Gestures: Swipe left for next track, right for previous track. Special gesture: Swipe left/right and back to the position where you started the gesture and Dark Evolution jumps to any random track in the playlist (playlist = example: if you play a folder, it chooses any track of this folder)

• LDB and LRC lyrics support.

I finally finished the basic part.


This means...

- Vertical mode
- Basic music control (play, rew, ff buttons, seekbar, physical buttons)
- Advanced music control (volume and playback speed slider, gestures)
- Lyrics viewer for LDB and LRC lyrics
- Submenus (functions menu, options menu, eq selector)
- Options (use large menu icons, disable album art animation, no album art reflection)

...are done!


The next things I'm going to develop are the integrated browser and the track preview feature.



(Theoretically DE is already a full music UCI... it has even more features than the stock music UI and some music UCIs)

So, I know it's still early, but what sort of thing should we expect to see for the horizontal view?

The horizontal view is also the music UI but rotated and rearranged. It won't be anything such as the Cover Matrix or similar because that sucks.

So can I use Aero for the main menu and Dark Evolution for the music UI and if so how do I do that, on claw's?

Download both packs (if DE is no longer a work-in-progress), and copy the music.swf of DE in the /System/Flash UI/ directory, and the same goes for the mainmenu1.swf from the Aero pack.

It could be that the mainmenu was called mainmenuN.swf, but I guess you got the idea.

This is pretty amazing, FDX . Aero Ultimate, then this...will you ever stop putting out great work? The LRC support is especially great, since a lot of music doesn't have an entry on LDB (or isn't accurate).

Any word on when it'll be available for download? Even the "basic" version would be good for now.

You can download DE on Chistmas.

At the moment I just can't release the basic version because I improved the album art animation (it does crossfading now which means that the old album art is still visible and the new one fades in then) and now I have some troubles with the Track Preview feature.

But don't worry, until Christmas this problem will be solved.

Because if this I decided to release a beta of DE today or tomorrow.

Mini User Guide:


How to open...

• ... the options menu: Press and hold the menu button until the options menu appears.

• ... the lyrics panel: Press and hold the tag information (title, artist, album...) until the lyrics panel appears. If the file has no lyrics of the type LDB, you can't open the LDB viewer. Same for the LRC viewer.

• ... the QuickAccess feature: Double-tap the album art.

• ... the Track Preview: Press and hold the browser button.
  If the option 'prefer track preview over browser' is activated, you just have to tap the browser button. To open the browser you have to hold the button then.

Available gestures:

• Swipe left/right to go to the next/previous track.

• Swipe left/right and then back to go to a random track.

The rest is easy to figure out.

By the way will be in the future possibility of personification? For example - possibility to change colour of the menu etc.
