Hi,
my Q2 doesn't read any FLAC tags. mp3s work fine. What could be the problem? Most of my files were tagged with mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/). |

I've never played any FLAC on my Q2, but I'm loading an album on right now. I'll get back to you on how it works. Are you referring to info like titles, or album art?

Both (title, artist, etc. and cover) doesn't work. I use the firmware 1.20.

Well, my titles were already there, from Exact Audio Copy, but I'm currently using MP3Tag to add cover art to the album while it's on the Q2.....so we'll see what happens here in a few minutes. I'm also using 1.20 firmware.

Are you using FLAC tags or (incorrect) ID3 tags?

Well, mp3tag calls them "FLAC(FLAC ID3v2)" but players like Winamp or aTunes can read them. So I guess the programm really writes the correct vorbis comments.

The FLAC tags from EAC show the titles just fine, but the cover art I tried adding with MP3Tag does not display....I don't know if that is due to the size of the image, or an incompatibility with the FLAC tag.

The files indeed also had ID3 tags. Without them my Q2 can read FLAC tags correctly - except the cover.
Are there any specifications I have to check so that I also can use umbedded FLAC covers? |

If the cover was embedded into the FLAC tags with a decent tagger like MP3Tag or Tag&Rename, then it should work. If it doesn't work, then the chances are high that it's the player's fault, and its firmware doesn't support FLAC tag specs properly.

I'm trying it again with a smaller size image.....300x300, as opposed to the 500x500 I tried earlier......
and that didn't work either. I'm not concerned for myself, as I never use FLAC on my players.... so scorefan, good luck!
