Cowon S9 thinking about buyin' it - but I've some questions (basically about the UCI)

Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about buying a C. S9 32gb cause I'm tired of my 4gb Samsung^^ I need much more space for my music than 4gb so I hope 32gb will be enough^^

1.) What are these UCI 'things'? Are these UCIs new/better user interfaces with new functions or are they just new themes?? And which UCI is recommendable?

2.) Does the UCI change the language from any non English language to English?

3.) What's about guaranty when I would use one of those UCIs?

4.) Is the original firmware so bad?

5.) Can I reset an UCI to the normal firmware?

6.) Is it useful to buy a case for the S9 to protect it?

UCI's are not firmware, they are independent on each other. The firmware handles the interior features, a UCI changes the optics (simplified). You can have several different UCI's on your player, some change the default menu look, some (like Claw's) let you customize the look completely and add some features.

You can think of a UCI as a theme which gives different look to the menus & buttons etc on S9 interface. So if you don't like the default look & want a different look you can use a UCI.

It's not just visual either; UCIs can also offer extra functionality.

For example Claw UI (officially Wallpaper UI, but I prefer Claw UI ;-) offers options for an auto resumer which the S9 doesn't naturally have, up to 10 dynamic playlists that can be re-ordered, named and have custom EQ assigned to, "hotlist" buttons to jump to all tracks by artist or all tracks in the album, different wallpapers for different screens, on screen volume control and on and on and on.

Yeah I was just trying to tell him in simple words what UCIs are about. They can ofcourse have added functionality besides visual appeal.
