Default Questions (and plea for help) about putting d2+ into recovery mode, and tcc tool!

Hello (again)
Guess what I've managed to do? If you guessed "mess up my d2 again!" then your correct!

First here is some preliminary information
I have a D2+, 8 gb.
I was charging it on a school computer, and disconnected after updating (heh) some music on it, without doing the disconnect routine!. I then realized that from the home screen I couldn't do anything that would access the memory (music, pictures, video etc..) I could still go to settings and utilities, but couldn't save something from notepad, or save any of the changed settings.

If I tried to do any of the aforementioned things, the player would freeze, and require me to hold the power button for about 10 seconds to get it to turn off. Turning it back on, the same thing would happen.

Still at school (my drawing teacher is awesome btw, she's letting me do all this in class) I decide to reload the firmware, hopefully this fixing the problem.

I head over to iaudiophile, grab 2.11, connect the cowon, and dump the first file in. I disconnect the D2, it says firmware updating and turns off. It hasn't turned on since.

Now: I realized that the way I updated the firmware was incorrect, and that I bricked the damn thing. Okay, I tell my self, calm down, just hit reset and it will all be better.

reset did not work, and so I looked into other alternatives. I came across the instructions for tcc tool, and using that to unbrick the thing.
These are the instructions I found

I have read these thoroughly, and I think I understand (gulp) but I have two question regarding the process:

  1. I have been having problems with the first step of the process: putting the D2+ into recovery mode. I have been holding the power and menu, as the instructions say, for about ten seconds, and then plugging it in, hoping for the "new hardware wizard". It never shows up. Why? I don't know?
  2. In the instructions it says to load each bit of the firmware one at a time (it was originally written for the legacy D2). For the D2= though, don't you have to put all the firmware bits (the bin files) in at the same time?
Alright. That is my overlong plea for help. Hopefully someone here will know what to do in this situation.

Thank you eversomuch to anyone who responds (helpfully),
Djini

I have had similar problems with my Cowon U3. I can not help much, but here is what I know.
1. do NOT touch the reset button (unless someone smarter comes on here and tells you to do so). I did this to my U3 and it only made my problem worse.
2. When using tcctools on the U3 I had the same problem you have. Here is how I fixed the problem with the computer not detecting my U3. You need to plug the usb cord into the D2 then into the computer (or the other way around I forget)

Hope this helps
