Sorry, I am just speechless. This is so bad. A potential 64gb S9 should be in pink (with some flowers) to match the new style. This is a bit too "special" for me.

Err... on the firmware page it says M3U. Sorry if I missed this earlier (I'm running v2.41 which released before this) but does S9 now supports M3U playlists? If yes then were should they be placed? In "playlists" folder?

@amit: M3U playlists have been supported for a few versions now. It appears you can put them anywhere. I put mine in the root folder and it detected them just fine.

I actually don't mind the new UI. It's faster and more responsive in general, it has a higher framerate and is more polished in some ways. I agree that the first theme (mostly silver) should have been kept over the colourful one. But the point of UCIs is that we can change the UI if we don't like the default one.

It kind of bugs me though that the second screen in 2.50 shows the dictionary ("Dic") menu option slide down all the way off the screen on load-up. It doesn't show in the UI but it still animates at the start. Shouldn't that have been removed for the non-Korean firmware? :P

I have a co-worker who used to work for LG in Korea. His take on the Samsung and now Cowon firmwares is that it's aimed at Korean youth. How well those players do in Korea is their main competitive interest. I don't like the new 2.50 main menu, but at least there is a more ordinary one to switch to.

In that case they should keep the vomit-inducing aimed-at-12-year-old-girls tacky crap for the 1.xx firmwares and make the 2.xx firmwares so that I don't have to be ashamed if someone catches a glimpse of the S9's UI by accident... luckily it doesn't really matter, since Claw's UI or Aero Ultimate hide all these infantile atrocities.

I've noticed that most of the user contributed UIs from Korea, Naver, Asurada, etc are also rather stylish and not over the top candy-colored idiocy like Cowon's official junk. So maybe they're misinterpreting their targeted market... one can only hope so. My opinion about humans in general is already very low, but please don't let it be true that people in Korea have not a iota of taste...

Maybe the reset button on the back of the device near the built in Mic.

ohh yeah, I tested it out, man... where the colors so fruity ahha lol.
I went back to 2.41 for now until I can get the UCI I want back on.

Just use the rear RESET BUTTON.

DON'T put a needle in the mic hole (reset and the mic are unfortunately very close together), it'll damage it irreparably. Make sure to check beforehand!

@amit: Judging from this thread, M3U playlists have to be put in the root folder.

And agreed, the colours and styles of screen 2 and 3 are just too cutesy and bright. :| What's with the bus gadget representing brightness? At least we still have UCIs to overcome this.
