I'm curious if anyone can suggest a mp3 player that lets you use MSC and has a fast refresh time or none at all. I really dont want to wait for my MP3 player to boot up or refresh the database for 5minutes everytime i turn it on. I'm looking for something about 8gb or higher. Why can't mp3 players have an option for just text based lists with no album art for fast usage?

In the past week I have used the following players...Sansa Clip, Sansa Fuze, Samsung YP-Z5, Zen Stone, and an iriver mplayer knock-off. All are MSC (drag & drop). There was a refresh time when I played with the microSD card in the Fuze but I wouldn't call it long. The YP-Z5 takes a while to turn on (but probably less than a minute) when it hasn't been used in a day.
But the only one that is 8GB is the Fuze (currently 8+1GB, but give me a couple of minutes and it can be 8+4GB). Steve |

"refresh the database for 5minutes everytime i turn it on"
Most players only refresh the database when music on the player is changed, and not each time the player is turned on. |

Same with my Sony....unless it's been hours and hours since I last used it, and even then it's still a matter of seconds.
