technical question : i remember my old iRiver cd player iMP900 which eq was impressive. u could boost 50hz instead of 80hz in cowons players. what i think is that cowon should add 40-50 hz in eq option setup. but i doubt it is possible, unless wolfson company will edit dac chips.

Yes, it's technically not possible, since it's hardware based, not software. The lowest band on the S9's Wolfson EQ is a shelf, not a notch. It affects all frequencies below 80Hz equally. (Same goes for the highest band as well.)
Good EQing practice would be lowering the 2nd band (set to 220Hz wide) a few dB, so the 1st and 2nd band overlap and the 80Hz shelf gets cut off earlier.
