Walkman phone vs Dedicated walkman player

Are the latest walkman phones like W980,W705 and W995 as good as the X,S and A series walkman players..is there much difference in their SQ ?

The dedicated players are better when it comes to sound quality, unless you compare it to a iTouch
My W902 mobile phone has better sound then my iTouch 2G for example, but it can compare it self with my NWZ-A818 or my X1050. They are just in another league

Yup, plus a dedicated player will also have more format support, and better battery life (probably), and a better UI...

The phones are catching up, though. Listening with half-decent iems I'd say my Nokia 5800 sounds about as good as my Zen did.

the new phones do have clear bass n clear stereo but do they give the same effect as that of walkman PMP's.I want Wi-fi plus great SQ ..i can't buy the X as its unavailable here in India..so will the W705 be a better option?

I guess the W995 is very good! And it has more features then the X-series as well, so as a multimedia machine the W995 is better I believe. But I doubt the phone have the same kind of quality as a Walkman PMP. At least my SonyEricsson W902 doesnt have the same kind of sound as my old NWZ-A818 (with use of same headset).

Never then less you wont be disappointed if you buy a SonyEricsson phone, because its not bad! And for your info. my W902 has better sound then my iTouch 2G, at least I think that. But competing against a Walkman of Sony is hard as they serve very good sound!

I just bought the W995 and I own a S639 too - I cannot make my mind up on which one sounds better, as both have very high SQ. The phone has an all round rich and deep sound, but the player has higher volume and more EQ options.

Needless to say, they both blow any-iThing away
