Default Apps vs Applications

Ok I know there was an incentive to be hip and trendy here. But I actually think "applications" would look more proper on the home screen since everything esle is properly spelled.
I'm down with the hipster lingo, but it just looks like a typo everytime I see it.

What do you guys think?

Applications are for a desktop, while apps are smaller and for on the go usage, IMO. I prefer Apps for a mobile device.

If you're saying Apps is actually a real word then I understand. I've only seen it used in the Warez circles.
Apple uses it too, but I figured it was an attempt to luring the kids in.

It's more of a modern accepted work than an official one. It's getting popular though, and I'd be shocked if it wasn't added to Webster's in the near future.
