Not to mention the A840 can only drive dynamic driver IEMs/phones properly, it fails with multi-armature ones.

What about cans like the ATH-M50?

The M50 are 38 Ohm dynamic driver phones, they should work fine with the A840, not influenced by the player's terribly high output impedance, and not hissing as well. With European loudness-crippled A840's they might be a bit quiet though, with their low sensitivity of 99dB/mW.

dude, have a look at the link... closely. it's obviously the 32GB version.

it's been broken for a few days now. either they don' have it on sale yet/anymore, although they're still advertising the shit out of it, or they somehow produced all dead links and they now redirect to the 32GB version.

anyway, while the links worked it cost £350, which is way too much. the 64 GB!!! version costs €309 at amazon.de (germany) that's £262 or $409, i'd say that's significantly less.

edit: now wtf? i can't believe it. the links didn't work like 10 minutes ago, and now they are a-ok and the price for 32GB dropped as well to £219, and the 64GB like you said is £299, i think i need to apologize, maybe the browser's cookies weren't working, i can assure you, all the ad links even on the front page redirected to a £299 32GB.

anyway, i think it's still too costly

no offence - all 64G players available now are expensive - CowonV5 - 500$,SonyA857 in Japan cost retail - 40000Yen(close to 500$),I-PodTouch - you know - 400$;the only cheaper option is CreativeZenXfi2,which cost less then 300$.Xmas is coming - write letters to SantaClaus!

I'd been waiting for Sony to release the 64GB version of this player in the UK for a loooong time! ... so I bit the bullet and bought it from these guys a couple of weeks ago … in my opinion it was worth waiting for ... I know there have been lots of comments on the volume capping although it works fine for me (admittedly I’m happy to live with the earphones provided ) ... also not convinced there is a way of using the playlist functionality … however for what I want it’s ideal and I’m pleased ‘Advanced Mp3 Players’ made it available in the UK (… can’t understand why Sony UK didn’t release it themselves … and never got a satisfactory response when I contacted them).

So this PMP finally made it out of Asia; haven't been keeping track since well over a year ago. £299 special as of today, or $464 US. I guess Sony's pricing attitude for their 'premium' electronics just never changes. Shame...there's just too many other diversions to attract me and my money in this pricing stratosphere (like another G17 to FrankenGlock...hmmm...).

i bought one today - the 16Gb A845 in white.

It was on clearance at my local Argos for £109.95 - with £20 vouchers I had it came in at £89.95 - cheaper than the 16Gb E series and the 16Gb S755.

I wanted another player but didn't really want to spend a lot, will post a review and pics later.

I have read that and there is no reliable way around the volume issue - have a look at AV forums.

Still, it's not an issue for me.

Hello guys I'm new here, I want to ask if there is any way for me to use the FM radio in my Japanese A847 outside Japan?

Also, my album art is not showing on some tracks while some do. Am I doing something wrong and embedded the wrong album size?
