I just picked up my Zune HD (black 16 GB) from Best Buy today. It's absolutely excelent. It's snappy, transitions are quick, and no delays compared to my 120 (Black also).
![]() My only complaint is that when I'm using the wireless functions (sync, internet, etc...) I get a weird buzzing in my left earphone. I doubt it's my headphones, as it's happening with both my Sennheiser CX-300s and Shure SE210s. I also don't have this happen with my Zune 120 or my older iPods. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue and what I should do about it. I'm very tempted to take it back to Best Buy but I've already got mine all set up. Suggestions?

No one has any real life experience with the player yet, so not many people will know exactly what's wrong.
I suggest you exchange it if you can because it might develop into something more serious and I'm sure you don't want the risk of that.

I am willing to bet it is a bad unit, but you might try cleaning the port, in case it has a bit of dirt, oil, etc on it. Too bad it is not a 1/4in trs a Q-Tip would fit in the port.
On a trs jack the tip is the left channel, perhaps it is plugged in too far, which would infer that you have a faulty unit, the tip could be touching something it shouldn't possibly causing the buzzing. Try pulling the plug back just slightly and see if it fixes it, far enough that you loose the only the right channel, if the buzzing stops while you loose the right channel then my hypothesis above is most likely correct. Sorry for my long post, I like puzzles, and love solutions even more. Cory

I guess I'll end up doing that. It's a shame, as I've already gotten quite attached to Echo (My 120 is named Philyra and my personally built desktop is Medusa. Some reason I default to Greek mythology names for electronics.), but I'd rather get one that I'm comfortable with. Thanks.

I name all of my electronics after elements from the "Periodic Table of the Elements". My laptop is Ti, my desktop(hand built) is Pb, my Nokia N800 is Al. My Zune will be Ag(Silver) or Au(Gold) because it will be so precious to my heart.

That's really cool. How'd you pick that as a topic for naming your stuff? I ended up with Greek mythology because my first custom built computer was (and is) a mess as far as cable management goes. It sort of reminded me of Medusa, so the name and theme stuck.

My older brother is a Geologist/Chemist and always quizzes me on the PTofE, and I'm studying to be a Physicist and most likely minoring in chemistry.
EDIT: We're a generation of Chemists I guess haha Cory

I just thought about how my roommate used charters from Lord of the Rings. I'm not that much of a nerd/geek, but I'm not one to talk with my choice haha.
