New firmware brings official camera app, SD card support

Zii labs just posted a new firmware update (92.02).

I am currently installing it....
It is worth noting that it deletes all media on the device

Anyone got their HDMI cable yet? I'll guess it's required for that last "fix".

And those who have it, is the firmware camera app better than the one the developer posted for users? I'm seriously thinking about signing up and getting one. Maybe not until all the hardware is demonstrable though. The addition of camera and SD card support is a good start.

The official camera app is very nice and sleek. it has zooming options, touch focus, shutter focus, and option to select the resolution

still haven't seen a photo i liked from that thing. Seems like there's so much fuzziness and/or blurring to the photos.

Wow, Nephersir, you're fast. I took some still images this morning. The display seems kind of jerky at the moment. It will probably get better. I'm actually pleased with the image quality of the stills. It's not a dedicated camera, so I didn't expect it to have the quality of one. Plus, it is still really early.

A manual white balance option would be nice (I didn't see one), but it appears to be trying to be doing an automatic adjustment.

Too bad you can't screencap the device... Or can you? I thought the new clothesline photo viewer was kinda' cute.

has anyone been able to get the HDMI out to work? I have been trying without success. Interestingly when i changed my source off of the EGG my TV said "disconnecting from anynet+" so it may have support for remote control over HDMI. But it could have been something else with the TV.

I was able to get my to work. I hook it up a computer monitor via an DVI-HDMI adapter and it did not display correctly the casue seem to have been the Adapter. Hooking up to my projector it work correctly. The Output is only active when a video is actively playing on the device. The screen on te Zii is still active for the video controls.

So that clotheline effect works for the horizontal album art view in the music app, and the photo app doesn't have that effect looking at single photos, but does do it when hoizontal looking at thumbnails of the photos. Am I right about that? I'd love to see a video. Is it a convincing animation?
