Default is it worth it to upgrade from A728

I got an A728 walkman paired w/klipsch custom 2's, any reason to move up to new walkmans?? I think the S series is looking halfway decent but only minor updates. Still has the same size screen.

The new e series I'm not touching because that is a step backwards, The X series is a bit out of reach at 300 bucks....

my A728 still has a 1 1/2 year extended warranty on it.

eer how is the new E a step backwards, in europe its almost identical to the new S except smaller screen and no speakers.

If you need podcast support, then wait trust me.

The E is still budget, fundamentally. I wouldn't trust it.

You're better to wait as the X series is way overpriced.

budget? nothing budget about it in europe when it comes with the same features as the S in the US.

the reason why the E is cheaper is because it lacks features such as podcast support and noise cancellation and of course the better headphones.

I mean the new E Series - I wouldn't trust it over the new S Series. The shops are full of the new E series here, but if I was buying, I'd sooner seek out a new S just because of the bad rep of the previous E's.

That's why I bought the S instead of the E..... because of what I heard about the previous gen. E series.

They may have totally corrected everything that was wrong with them, IDK, but I wouldn't buy one to find out.

I was referring to the new E as well. the fact that both the E and S share fm and voice recording in europe and only differ in speakers and screen size, it is a fair guess that they share the same internal parts or chips to an extent.

But it doesn't come with any different earbuds from the new S, does it?

all the current new walkmans, S, E (US and EU) come with the same headphones, the MDR-E804s which are the same as the B series has.

And screen burn in? I hope that was an isolated case.

Well I dunno about the stock earbuds those things usually die on me in 2 month anyways... I was I just wanted to see if there was a reason to upgrade which there doesn't seem to be one. I guess my 8gb A728 will keep chugging along till I break it, actually hmm I do have a extended warranty for it. I should probably just break it and send it in and hope for a new one.

well there is one problem, if they can't repair it, they might give you new one from the current stock of devices, and I doubt it will be a x series.

Nah I wasn't banking on an X series, I think the only way you could get that is if you had an a828. Getting an S series wouldn't be a bad thing. Because I could probably sell that for 150 and that cuts into the 299 price tag of the 16gb. Well maybe have to give it some thought.
