Internet through bluetooth

PDA's and phones can access the Internet using bluetooth, a bluetooth dongle and a computer. It's some Internet sharing thing, I don't know how it works. but anyway, could this be done with a bluetooth mp3 player like the P3. It doesn't have wi fi, but I can't see why it can't access the Internet. this could be something very neat, I guess you would need a browser that's compatible with a touch screen pmp.

this has been said a zillion times. really, the only way that this would be possible, is if somebody ports android over to the P3.

No, since the P3 doesn't have a browser and it doesn't that particular profile. (Bluetooth comes in different profile, for example, transferring files and use BT headphones are separate profiles.)

And even if it did port Android, the processor probably isn't powerful enough to run it well.

The profiles can be added via firmware. When I had a T10, it didn't come stock with cell phone connectivity, but it came with a firmware update. The P3 probably has the potential for internet, but it would take some crazy hax. If as many homebrew development teams existed for Samsung as did for apple, this would probably be possible already.

Yeah, but iPod Touch has so many program because it has a relatively good processor and graphic accelerator.

P3 doesn't have either, so it would be much harder to implement a full web browser on it.

Plus no one's working on a new BT profile, and Samsung seems to have moved on...

It would definitely be possible on the Tegra powered M1 though. Just food for thought.
