So I discovered this program, SimplifyMedia, thanks to Aiml3ss on Head-Fi and we've been chatting every once in a while since.

It's called and here's the basics:

Enjoy songs from home while at work or from any WiFi location. Explore friends' music while they are online.

Free – No hidden charges. No spyware.

Easy – Set-up is fast. No need to upload files to a website.

Integrated – Play music in iTunes, Front Row, Winamp, WMP 11 or Rhythmbox.

Safe – Only your group can access what you are sharing, and no one can see your other files.

Legal – Files are streamed only within your private group.

Universal – Connect across PC, Mac and Linux desktops and the iPhone and iPod touch. It even works with UPnP devices.

I would compare it to internet radio where you get to choose the song from a library and chat with the library's "owner". It's best used for discovering new music and chatting.

It doesn't matter what file format you use, just post your username and we can all add each other (up to 30 friends).

P.S. Just a word of advice, I've found that iTunes works the easiest as it seems to integrate seamlessly, but it supports more programs.
