Give me at least 16gb to go w/the microSD slot and I might consider it as a new player. Actually, I'd consider it if it had a friggin' VOLUME ROCKER!!!!! Another player that's "almost" right, thanks to Samsung.

The P3 and the R1 have a dedicated volume rocker

And as regards the 16gb version for the R0, it might be possible. Maybe later

is that a touch panel AGAIN?
Or have they finally learnt from their errors and used tactile controls?
As this is what I was looking for all those moons ago; a screen around 2.5", expandablility, 30 hour plus battery life and a reasonable price.
and it would most likely have iplayer support, which I personally think is a killer app if you live in the UK

What's the difference between a touch panel and tactile controls? (sorry I'm french)

It's probably like on a Q2/Q1 or S3 unfortunately...

It's clearly no tactile controls again, judging by the photos. Same touch-junk they keep pushing onto the unsuspecting public. At least the four areas outside the fake Zune-squircle, by the looks of it.

Lebellium: tactile = real buttons, buttons you feel you pushed them, buttons that give you feedback, buttons you can operate without looking.

tactile is feedback, ie hardware buttons.
Id even be happy if they took the design of the e900 keypad where all the 'action' buttons are touch, but the dpad isn't.
But I guess samsung are too attached to their touch panels

I found the touchpad on my T10 ok to use, but that was a 4GB player. If this player goes to 16 +16GB, then that's 4000+songs to navigate around. Ouch.

I wouldn't have the patience for that . I'd throw it off a cliff or drop kick it out my window for sure

I do kinda like the brushed metal finish. That's a nice touch and MicroSD is always a comforting addition, but that's where the love affair ends unfortunately. Samsung really needs to cut back its model list and just keep a handful of dynasty players with better firmware updates.

If Samsung made the music library navigate-able by alphabetical search, the same as a Sony or Creative DAP, all my bitching would be gone. I'd deal w/the touchpad, since it'd take seconds to find what I'm looking for, not minutes of scrolling.
