I have an F20 that's about 4 or 5 years old now. In the last 3 or 4 months its been going crazy!
Sometimes when I go into a menu it either doesn't respond at all when I touch the pad or it just starts scrolling through menus and selecting songs by itself. Usually it will then swith between the playback screen and the main menu, regardless of what buttons I push. Sometimes I'll be listening to a song and it will just start fast forwarding and the only way to stop it is to lock the keypad/buttons. It's almost like the touchpad is broken or jammed or something. Anyone had any similar problems? I'm starting to think I've just worn it out. |

The battery can expand over time, and can interfere with the touchpad (it sits right below it). I suspect that's what's happening here - it's probably pressing the pad against the case, causing the problem. You can confirm this by taking the front cover off, as a test.
If this is the original battery, it's probably worth replacing the battery anyway (I would suspect that it's not holding a charge as long as it used to?).

Thanks heaps for that, I'll look into it.
I have to say though, I haven't noticed a change in the battery life. It's worth checking though. |
