Video format help...PLEASE

Hi guys,

Ive read many posts in this forum about video resolutions and formats but when I use this info for my conversions, it just doesnt work.

I have an X-1060 and atm I can only watch videos at 320x240, psp mp4...

I tried AVC/H264 at 480x272, 480x270 and 432x240 and none of them worked but the 320x240 res did.

I tried what the manual said about wmv and ive just given up on that...

So atm I can only watch videos with a resolution of 320x240. Can some one please help me or tell me the correct configurations so that I can watch vids full screen and not have to use the zoom feature.

I've been using DVD Catalyst, Sony Walkman Profile, 1000 bit rate, 30 fps, 424 x 240. Zero problems.

PS. I also select, in Global Settings, the option to remove the black bars and modify the video to fit the X's screen.

thanx for the reply m8. cud u plse tel me if dvd catalyst is freeware and if so wher to get it from. also what formats it supports. also does it convert to mpeg4 mp4 or h264/avc mp4. thanx

I use h264, but I think it does .mp4.

What I found was I had to use AVC Baseline codec, CAV or something like that was a secondary option my software gave me (Vegas Movie Studio). The resolution at 432x240, bit rate 1536000 (or 1.5 mbit, or 1,536 kbit, etc.). It took lots of trial and error to get them to work, so if you need more detailed settings, I can certainly pull up the profile I saved and copy everything out of it into a message.

Can you please give me the encoding settings for the sony software and if so a step by step instruction. i really want this to work!
