Help Slow / Laggy when changing to certain songs

For some reason, when i get to a few specific songs, the player freezes for a while before the next song changes. Anyone else have this problem at all? Any ideas on how to fix this? Thx.

One of the things it does when changing songs is look for cover art in the file. If your cover art is extra large or perhaps slightly corrupt it could lead to the symptoms you describe. Make a list of the songs it happens with, and then compare their properties with songs that don't cause the problem.

yes i have the latest firmware. yea ive started to make a list. seems like most of the songs r larger files in general and not sure if its a coincident or not but most off them come from CDs ive ripped in the past. ive tried removing album art but still slow.

all about 128 kbps i think. One thing ive noticed is the slow songs r all in WMA format. I think that might be the problem. can i just change the ending to mp3 or something? or do i have to convert the file somehow?

You can't just change the extension. Convert to MP3 and you should be fine. Not sure, but WinMediaPlayer should be able to do it for you.

Yeah, I perfer MP3 over WMA, but there are other formats you could test out (OGG, FLAC) you might consider using a different file format to WMA. Personally, I've had mostly good, but not all good experiences with programs that convert WMA to MP3, so I would suggest you find a new format and rip to that from hence forth. But totally up to you to decide!
