Default How to tag album art.....the Easy way!

If your anything like me and not the greatest with computers there is an easy way to tag album art work to your mp3 files. I found a cheap program about $15 called MuvUnder Cover. Not only does this program tag mp3 files but also finds the correct art work as well!. Ive used it on my Yp-P3 and it works very well and its so simple to use. Any one else using this program? Opinions?MuvUnder Cover: The Album Art Sleuth - Finds Album Cover Artwork Automatically | MuvEnum Software

Winamp works fine for me. It downloads album art automatically or I can add it manually for those more obscure albums.

This is not an issue of the tagging application - this is just a matter of if you use standard MSC mode or that MTP junk on your player. No useful app works with MTP, only WMP and the like support that nonsense - for obvious reasons.

Tag&Rename, same as other quality apps, works with all MSC players.

Aaaah, heheh... I just noticed you have a Sony and are stuck with MTP as long as you're on Windows. Well, maybe get the S9 in your sig sooner than later?

No seriously, I'm not aware of if you can trick the Sony into behaving like a standard USB mass storage device - I know it's possible on Linux and OSX - it should be possible on Windows too, but I have no experience with Sony players.

I will buy the s9 soon. Its not easy to make money when your job is a paper runner .. anyways I remember reading a thread about it so, I might try it if I get time to do it

Mp3 tag works fine for me. I actually read the Captain's guide which was pretty useful.

Great find! its only a day late!!! I have spent the last 2 days downloading and trying all sorts of taggers that fix album art. all the free ones that is. it was soo frustrating. I finally settled on Tagscanner http://www.xdlab.ru/en/download.htm which did a great job of tagging and retrieving and embeding great quality albumart. It was a long process since the program doesn't have an automatic option. all and all im pleased with the result and im sticking with it hoping i won't ever have to tad my entire library again.

I beg to differ. I use my Cowon D2+ in MTP mode and it works beautifully with Winamp. I sync my entire music library, including album art and play lists. Haven't had any problem with tags or comments on MP3 or WMAs, like some people have reported, only the occasional special character that is easily fixed. I even started using Winamp to manage videos. I have it "watch" the folder where I put videos that I have converted for the D2+, then in Winamp I just click on a video and select "Send to: Cowon D2" and voila.

One thing though: I had to rollback WMP to version 10 because 11 seems to have a bug in the MTP protocol that crashes Winamp when trying to access the D2+ in MPT mode. With WMP 10 on my system, eveything is working smoothly.

Winamp would fall among "WMP and the like"... too bad MTP is such a non-standard that just a few jukebox apps work directly with it. Since MTP doesn't assign a drive letter to the player like standard MSC devices, it's unfortunately incompatible with most anything else out there, including MP3Tag, Foobar, Tag&Rename, and other heavy-duty taggers (or any other app that could run on an "USB stick", for that matter).

Good to hear the Winamp tagger functionality is decent, also for MTP devices. I do use Winamp as the main audio player on my computer, but don't let it interact with any of my MP3 players or use its tagging functionalities.

Ah man, I'm not looking forward to cleaning up my library when my P3 arrives (yes I've let it get a bit cluttered). I'll probably go with MP3tag, easy to access. All album art has to be formatted to a certain size though doesn't it? How about on Tag&Rename? can the program auto-size album art or am I going to have to go through that rigamarole as well?

With the P3 I experimented and it will show anything less than 500x500. I found it best to do each file individually- took ages but it's done.

I was able to get album art a bit larger with tagscanner. 600x600 or something like that. tagscanner finds multiple sizes and lets you choose and its pretty fast. it can also rename and reorganize your music files.

You can group tag you album art with MP3 Tag or Emodio. I find MP3 Tag is faster though.
