Is Rockbox worth my time?

I have a 10GB (2+8) V1 Fuze.

On it I only listen to 'flac' files (I have a Sony 728 for videos and mp3).

All I care about is the music and it's sonic quality (I use Sennheiser PX-100 headphones).

I have no interest in themes, games, album art, etc.

Will Rockbox benefit me? And, if so, how?

A quick aside, is there an ETA in the 32GB microsdhc from Sansa. I'm eager to get my hands on one.

FYI, I'm a semi-retired old fart (66) who has been dealing with a serious music "jones" since age 10.

Rockbox will give you gapless playback, a really high quality fully parametric EQ, and other sound enhancements the stock firmware can only dream of (if you're into these things). If you're into Last.FM, Rockbox will let you sync your tracks with it. That's about it for the audio side, the features that make Rockbox irreplaceable for me.

yeah the audio and playback adjustments are really cool

i haven't tried to mess with it much but i do know with the regular firmware i couldn't use my Fuze with a set of stand alone computer speakers i have. too bass heavy no matter what EQ setting i used. not the player's fault, really. but my speakers have a subwoofer without an adjustment knob to turn the bass effect (boom boom) down

but now with Rockbox i can turn the bass down as far as i want. i can practically eliminate it, while keeping the sound nice overall
