Please, no touchscreen - PLEASE!!!!! Just an FM tuner and a capacity bump for the A series, same for the S series. Just not another touchscreen Sony. I mean, really, the A and S series are excellent!!! I wouldn't want then to mess w/an almost perfect dap design.

Found some photos of the new 16GB NWZ-E445 on the Sony France website. I haven't seen these photos yet, sorry if they are a repost. It looks better in this photo than the previous ones. See link for other views:

Edit: Even the red one looks decent: Sony NWZ-E445R

hmm, both the S and E series walkmans ship with less than ideal headphones. Wonder if this is to reduce the cost?

hnm, I was hoping sony would go for a true 16:9 screen on their walkmans, it would set them apart.

Sony Europe's press release of the new E and B series, including all photos:

http://presscentre.sony.eu/Content/D...1&NewsAreaID=2

@Ascariss: I was hoping for 16:9 also. I don't care too much about the E series, but on the S series it would be nice.

I wonder if the new E series will still rebuild the library after being powered on from standby. I originally bought an 8GB E series but returned it because of that. I purchased an S639 after that and am happy with it. I don't really use any sound enhancements or any of the S series specific features though, so if the new E series doesn't rebuild the library all of the time I would consider it instead of an S series. I know the new S series specs haven't been released yet, but so far the only new feature that I see is a speaker, which I would like to have, but I wouldn't buy an S series just for the speaker. I'm glad to see that an alarm, timer, and mic & FM recording were added. Those are all features that I wanted. I understand that a lot of people want a 32GB model, but 16GB is enough for me. Barring the rebuilding library issue, the E series looks good enough for me. It looks like the E and S series will be released at different times so I'll have to wait until the new S series is announced before I make that decision - just in case there are new features that might be worth holding out for.

Matt

Edit: Just wanted to add that the mic opening on the new E series is on the bottom of the player. Looking at the bottom, the headphone jack is on the left, the WM-Port is in the middle, and the mic opening is just to the right of the WM-Port.
