Is the Samsung YP-CP3 coming to the US?

This is the player I'd really love to have in a 32gb flavor. It's hitting Russia, will we see it as well?

Mehhh...the only thing this has over the P3 is the microSD slot. Besides that, the P3 is superior to it in every way...

This fattie player doesn't even look 2005, it looks 1999... what is wrong with Samsung? We already know that joysticks don't work since the days of the Cowon X5. Not to mention the rest of the anachronistic design.

There is something to be said for tactile controls though....I just hope that joystick is recessed enough to not break off if the device was in and out of pockets frequently. Doesn't seem to follow the "thin" trend either, does it?

I like it due to the fact it's different than anything out ATM, and the "1999" look is something totally different than anything currently on, or coming, to the market. Plus if it hits 32gb, and has a microSD card slot, I think it's a win, not a ***fail***.

You got a point there......seems like all the 32GB flash players are capped at 32GB, (unless you buy an O2) and since we all have lots of GB's on our computers, we should be celebrating expandability.

But by the looks of the menu, the microSD is not fully integrated into the main system like the D2 or Fuze is.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a "Prime Pack", or Bluetooth.

ALSO, tactile controls (especially joysticks), don't appear to work with the grid type interface IMO. You'd have to click through 11 other icons before getting to the one you want. And can you imagine going through a large list of music with that teeny joystick??

And IMO, i don't think it looks all that different. If you want different, why not buy a triangular shaped DAP, or better yet, a rhombus!

Not necessarily. If you look at that grid, to get from videos to settings, you can go across 3 and down 2 (so 5 'skips') rather than with other tactile setups where you would have to scroll down 10 times. Although I admit there is no reason to get this when the P3 exists, other than the possibility of a 40gb player

Well, all things aside, I like it. A smaller form factor between the P3 & Q2, with tactile controls plus microSD expansion. Sounds good to me.

A different picture would be nice, one that gives a better perspective on its real size. Too bad there wasn't a shot of one in the palm of somebody's hand, you know?

There's a rumor of a camera (most doubt it), and it's now starting to show up on other sites. Sorry for the fact that I can't find a picture in someones hand yet.

That shot with the headphones plugged in helps...I don't think it's as thick as I would have thought based on the pic in the OP. Looks like it's probably thicker than the Touch, but not monstrously huge, I don't think. I'm intrigued by this player, at least given what little we know now.

Well, if I get 1 and it's at least 16gb (microSD expansion helps sway my opinion ), I might be needing a new home for a Q2.

The additional pictures you posted changed my opinion.

I'd consider one if the microSD is integrated, sound quality is good/great and it comes with 16 or 32 GB.

There is no camera and the CP3 will be sold in another country.
But normaly it's only for the Russian market.
