I am not sure how much you paid for your X, but you should have not bought it, the product is discontinued and new stuff is coming from sony so it would have been wise to wait. I'd say return it if you still can.

The OLED on the X - and the same on the A series - isn't that great, not as good as the Retina display IMHO - fine for viewing album art, though.

Saying that, I don't think the J3's display is much better, either, and wouldn't want to watch any video on there for very long - too low resolution.

i'm spoilt with my phone - I wish DAP manufacturers brought out high-res OLED/AMOLED screens like the D3 or Viliv whatever-it-was-called.

I've just bought a second hand 32 Gb X-series (5 days ago) So far I've been very impressed, for me the sound quality alone will make any future reservations I find excusable. I dont find it 'heavy' just reasuringly solid. The noise cancelling doesn't seem to work on mine.. I suspect I need new NC020 IEM's which incidently I've been pleasantly surprised by.. I find them more agreeable to my ears than my RE-Zeros thanks to the larger 13.5mm drivers offering more bass for a fuller, more revealing and spacious sound.

Regarding your slowdown, I dont have any such problems but so far I've only have aprox 6Gb worth of songs uploaded, I'll see if that changes with additional storage or album art to determine whether its a buffer issue or something more serious.

Today I ripped David Gilmours 'Remember that night' (Live at the Apollo) DVD at 320 kbps. and wow... just wow!!! I've been playing it solid for the last 6 hours, its proper audiophile stuff, Yeah I know Pink Floyd are notoriously brilliant live.. legendary even, but Im definately gonna be looking for good quality gig recordings from now on... the generic studio recording downloads available are just so piss poor in comparison... its like an epithany or eureka moment in your audio search for what rocks your boat, happy days!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, gives me some pointers of what future issues to look for... I just hope it doesn't colour my views on this little gem though cos at the moment I'm loving it very much!

Is there an unwritten rule that replying to old threads is forbidden? It is still relevent and interesting and I was just sharing my views, thanking the OP for giving his and was not expecting a reply.

There is no need for the capitals/exclamations etc.. If you dont want to read it, dont... I'm sure others in similar circumstances to me (ie- new X-series owners) will.
