€6 ($8) for the coffee, not $15. The prices are similar on the Champs Élysées in Paris. And you'll have to pay €5 in any Starbucks.

We forget how economical prices can be in the U.S. at times, at least compared to prices in (large) Euro cities. A reason I get upset when I see U.S. stores and restaurants trying to "act like" their Euro brethren and sistren . . . .

They charge 12 Euros for coffee. Six Euros for the coffee itself, and 6 Euros "entertainment fee".

Many in the US go to McDonalds for their $1 large coffee(I don't know if they still have that deal).

I pay about £2 here for a coffee.

Lots of other things are cheaper here in Europe so it balances out.

What is cheaper in Europe than in the US??????

Everyone I know who has travelled to Europe complains about how expensive Europe is, and these are people in the NYC metro area, which has a cost of living over double the US average.

I just paid $1.50 for a cup of coffee (MUD!!!),...I definitely overpaid for it. But in NYC $1.50 is inexpensive.

Travelling is cheaper in the EU, I find--specifically, rooms at pensiones (not a well-developed concept in the U.S.).

Also, espresso machines. (Really!)

$15.00 is not that bad, considering that Kopi Luwak processed coffee can go for $50.00 per cup. Now that's a lot of shit!
