Wallpaper (Claw) UI - Icon Themes

I can't believe there was still no thread about this here (I searched, but if I didn't found an existing one I was just too blind). Well so I will start this thread with an icon theme of myself called "Text".

But some things have to be said first. There might be themes for the S9 and other players which have nearly the same look. Butthis is no theme or interface but just an icon set (though it might "feel" like something more) and I hope I don't make some people angry with that.

Its a little bit tricky to install so I included an installation instruction. The instruction has been written before version 3.30 of Claw's UI was released which now includes the possibility to "Lock Folders" only. So I recommend using that feature since it would make the installation easier.

The Zip has been made with WinZip 9.0, so be sure to extract the data by using a compatible tool and with folder structure.

EDIT: I reworked the icon set to transparent icons, usable with any background. So the single pack now contains the instructions, a black wallpaper, black icons (for easier alignment), transparent icons (which could be just copied after aligning) and the additional icons for both as well.

EDIT: Please note that this set has been modified 2 times and the newer versions are farther down in this thread (newest in post #17).

As much as I hate the Zune "philosophy" (meaning, it's just an iPod, but from Microsoft) in general, I very much like the no-nonsense approach of text-only for the main screen.

Ok, so here is another theme I created because of being a big 007 fan. I like the intro of Casino Royale very much, so I tried my best to create a wallpaper and a matching set of icons for Claw's UI and ended with having 3 with different color schemes. Of course you can mix the schemes if you like it, especiallly the black and white one look quite nice together.

So have fun with it!

And yet another set of icons called "Color", another icon theme mod (trying to simulate another UI by just using icons).

The original orbs aren't mine, so credit belongs to the author of them, but I have to admit shamefully, that I couldn't find the source of these anymore.

I think the set is pretty self explaning in the pictures, so no guide here as well. Just a few notes:
- Icon theme mod intended to use folders in main menu
- if you don't need some icons just leave them out and modify the placement order (you can start at the top left instead of top right for example)
- Grid can be used for easier alignment, but I forgot about the values

Nice job on those icons. BTW, I was wondering if you could tell me what font and font size you used to make the icons for Text, as i want to make my own as well, thanks.

I reworked the transparent icon set and added shadows, that the white color of the text would be better readable on brighter background images. Furthermore I added icons for widgets, an alternative "back" button and some others.

Please note that you can request additional icons and I try to add them asap. Requested icons will be added in this version only, since I decided to discontinue the earlier versions. If you use a previous version, just overwrite the old files, you don't have to edit your icon settings or alignment.

The sample wallpapers used are Claw's modified with Oriuus grid template (@ iaudiophile.net).

EDIT: Please note that the installation instructions were written for the older versions, so there are 2 main changes. The "Reworked" file comes without the original black icons and there is no folder depth limitation in Claw's newest version of Wallpaper UI!

so i installed Claw's UCI on my shiny new S9 and the customizability is great (is a little bewildering)! i tried installing a new icon theme and followed the instructions from the wiki. After making the themes.txt and putting the icon files in the appropriate folder the name of my new icon theme showed up in the user settings. However after selecting it for menu 1 (or 2 or 3 for that matter) the icons i changed (the ones in the main menu; music, pictures etc) look exactly the same as the standard S9 themes

am i missing something?

nm, turns out the png's i was using weren't proper png's, converting them did the job

Only another rework of the text theme. I changed the font to Comfortaa by aajohan (thanks a lot for this font) which looks a lot more stylish than the old one.

PERFORMANCE: The black theme is back. Since the file size of the black icons is much lesser compared to the transparent ones, I added this again for usage with a black background for better performance. And another note: for daily usage I use a "minimized" icon theme with only the main functions counting 8 icons (deactivated the rest), the result is pretty speedy.

The icon set contains 32 icons including one for tower defense. Please request missing icons.

Here comes a miniText theme using only 8 icons and deactivating the rest. The idea behind it is to get a fast icon theme for daily usage. Font is comfortaa by aajohan (thx a lot).
