Default playlist help

i've been searching the internet for a while on how to create a playlist on ubuntu. not much luck, but using i can use easytag to make a playlist. i'd rather not organize my songs in easytag and then make a playlist, but rather somehow transfer playlist that i have made onto the pilot. can anyone help here? i tried editing the playlist easy tag made, but after editing it, the pilot won't recongnize it anymore.

Also not as pressing matter as above, but for some reason when viewing by artists, for some artists it'll show the artist and right below it'll show the same artist but with a weird symbol at the end (example "Artist" then below "Artist*" or some orthe random symbol.)

i'd appreciate it if anyone can help me.

ha nevermind. i finally found out that if you set the pilot to mtp mode it'll take your playlist easily. You set it in the settings of USB Mode: Connection Type to Automatic instead of File folder for mtp mode.
