My Various Music files are all tagged but the S9 does not read the tags, in folder order the songs are all in alphabetical order, should the S9 be reading the Tags?

![]() Did you try the genres, artists, etc. which are on the first page of the directory of your browser? This way your songs could be displayed correct, since it uses the tags to browse. But I have to admit that I added track numbers to the filenames so I didn't have this problem. I think if you want to use the folder mode and have the correct order you will have to rename the files. Since this could be a lot of work I recommend a tool named "Renamer", very easy to use and very comfortable to serialize a lot of files/folders at once (freeware). |

I prefer Bulk Rename Utility to Renamer - it's more flexible and powerful, and integrates into the windows shell nicely.

Foobar2000 does a great job or renaming files.
In foobar, in the playlist window, 1) Highlight all the files you want to rename. 2) Right-click on the files you want re-ordered (renamed) 3) File Operations -> Rename To... 4) put whatever you want in the box for [File Name Pattern:] like %track% %title% or %title% '('%artist%')' or %track% '('%album%')' %artist% - %title% Just put them down however you want them to be renamed. track number = %track% album = %album% album artist is %album artist% (yes there's a space in there) ...it's all pretty straightforward (if you are a fellow geek)
