Default Toshiba Gigabeat V30 no longer synchronizing with WMP 11

I am not really computer savvy so I apologies if I do not explain all of this correctly. I also searched the forum for simmilar issues but found nothing that helped in my case.

About a month ago I had to get my computer reformatted. Before then I was using WMP 11 to load songs and movies to my gigabeat, but after my computer was reformatted I tried to connect my gigabeat to WMP. I put in the disc that came with the box, loaded what it told me to load, a tleast I think I did. But WMP will not sync with the gigabeat, the computer wont even recognise the gigabeat taking a port.
I also never got the option to install the new hardrive or what ever it is called for the gigabeat. I connected it to another computer and the hardware wizard appeared but came up with teh following message:
Cannot install this hardware

There was a problem installing the hardware
MTP Device
An error occured during the installation of the device

The filename, directory name, or volume lable syntax is inncorrect

There is no other information given on what is wrong with either the CD or the gigabeat.
Both computers have WMP 11 on it and the required adobe program that the CD recommends installing. I even uninstalled WMP 11 and loaded WMP 10 if that was the case, but the same issues occured, and I remember using WMP 11 to sync with my gigabeat before I reformated my computer.

Any help would be appreciated.
