First off, ubbbberr bump.

and Second, 2.30 was only released about 23 days ago, most updates take about a month...

2.10 came out nearly 2 whole months after 2.09 had come out, and that was a massive update, an well worth the wait.
2.30 came out a month and a bit after 2.20, so I doubt Cowon will rush the firmware update to keep people 'happy', one month is the average wait time, and Cowon are probably working on bug fixes rather than speed increases and new features (which people keep mentioning)

There will be nothing big about it, just a regular firmware update with (more or less) useless or unnoticeable "bug fixes" or (more or less) nonsensical "features", as is the modus operandi of Cowon - and has been since the 6 years I've been following their so-called "update" cycle.

There will be no gapless, no official h.264 or AAC support, no better playlist support, or anything else that would make sense.

For balance I predict there will be h.264 and AAC support, improved playlist support, and a few unknown things that will make perfect sense. Eventually.

For the unknown and unlikely things I want a theft alarm feature. It's got a motion sensor. Put it to some good use.

Yeah, right. Look at it this way: Claw and his UI has had so incredibly much more impact on the S9 than any official Cowon firmware upgrade - it's not even funny.

I'm hoping Claws' work will challenge their pride a bit to up their game. It's the codec support that is up to the Cowon developers. Hopefully they read this forum.

noticeable or not, every bug fix helps out somehow in the long run.

and i'm also not saying i don't enjoy my player the way it is, because i do.
