I'm guessing after the stable firmware comes out (it's beta, although no real problem has been reported). I've bought S9 from amazon (originally with US firmware) and installed the new KR firmware. It's working fine.

I was thinking of trying the korean firmware myself. Which version of the software did you download, the V1.10 or the v3.10?

v1.10b is the pack you need. The 3.10 pack is for the DMB.

Its working perfectly in English for me and Claw even updated his UCI pack to work with it. I love it more then ever now.

By the way, the last release was a "final", not a "beta", and it's been less than a month - not that this means anything with Cowon's release cycle.

lol, you are in for a surprise … on the i7 the first year there were many, .13, .14, .15, you get the pic, then none for a long time, then v1.17 was 16-01-2008, and I thought they were done, expecting to see the i8 rumor photos and now the other day v1.18 on 29-05-2009.

Agreed. Cowon actually releases firmware updates with remarkable frequency.

I was being sarcastic to the fact that before .3 there was a new firmware update just about monthly if not less.

I think it is a great service that they do by releasing new firmware every now and then, normally other companies just do a few bugfixes and thats it. Cowon adds new functionality to the player and makes it more convenient to use.

I'm not thinking it. Cowon owners are lucky to get so many firmware updates - I used to use a Samsung T9 (no longer use due to capacity reasons and I lost the USB cable) and not once while I owned it was the firmware updated.
