You've only got to worry about the 16gb 2nd gen Touch that are still in the pipeline. My Target has 16 in it's case. Once Apple's suggested price markdown gets around that $299 to $249 drop might turn into $249 with a $20 gift card (for $229) and the game will be closer than it appears to be now.

Dave,

When will the Microsoft stores in Scottsdale and San Diego be opening? Once in awhile I get to the Phoenix area and I'd definitely check it out.

@Dave,

There shouldn't be any new competitor variables to worry about before launch day now. Hopefully the Zune Team is relaxing a little now knowing their ZHD decisions/choices have been good ones relative to what else is out there. Do you have you any specifics now about the time and place for the formal announcement(s)? Will there be a glitsy keynote er, PowerPoint show or a meager press release? I'd love to see a big show, with the tech press invited, and standing ovations after each slide. Perhaps you could play a little music too.

I bet they'll have a bunch of apps, games, and other cool stuff free on the Zune when we get it.

Now I forget where on this site, but someone was asking me about whether 16GB units will come in platinum and 32GB units will come in black. I just realized I never got to that question.

Yes - starting Tuesday you'll be able to order any combination of the 5 colours at launch, capacities and custom engraved artwork from Zune Originals.

Dave,

Is there more to the Zune HD that we don't know about? And I'm talking serious stuff (not something like the new Zune software can rip a CD .5% faster than the last version). I don't need to know what it is, I'm just wondering if we have more to look forward to.

I've got a question about the Zune firmware. I don't know much about the Zunes, but I was wondering if the Zune HD firmware will have the option to change the main menu background?

I'd like to ask: Will there be an inline remote, possibly, so that volume can be adjusted and tracks changed, all without taking the Z:HD out of a pocket? Just curious,....

Hey Dave,
While I was on the Zune Canadian Website, I was looking around the MP3 Player section, I clicked on "Make Your Zune Original", and eventually, it led me to zune originals.com so would I be able to ship the custom-setting Zune to Canada? or....what?

Well Platinum doesn't seem that bad after all. But it does look like dark white in some picture. So I'm not sure, but I would like to get 32GB player though.
