Help Guide to Claw's UI [can be found here]

Hi guys!

First I want to thank Claw again for doing a great job with his Wallpaper UI. I think it is the most often used UCI for the S9 and I am glad that he worked out this thing. I read somewhere, that he is still working on a wiki, so I thought, why not help him, to give something back.

So I started to work on a little compendium about all the features of his UI, including some tutorials, which should help every new user to get into it and maybe some hints for the advanced users. The intention was to develop a manual for everybody free to use. Maybe Claw even decides to put it in his update files. I would be honered if he likes the idea. (If you absolutely don't like it say a word and I will remove it instantly.)

It is a single *.txt file of about 70 kb , so you could even read it on your player (but I doubt its fun, due to its dimensions).

The Guide has been posted on iaudiophile (id: ilikes9) as well, so if you have any suggestions or information, it will be enough to post it in one of the forums.

Current Version applies to Wallpaper UI Vers. 3.30:

1./2. Install/Uninstall
3. Claw's UCI / User Settings
4. Custom Icon Manager / Tutorial "How to use custom icons"
4.1 Custom Icon Themes / Tutorial "How to use custom icon themes"
5. Playlist Manager / Tutorial "How to use the Playlist Manager"
6. Tutorial "How to set up different wallpapers and use the "Timeline" feature"
7. Tutorial "How to use different themes with Claw's UCI"
8. App Settings / Tutorial "How to use Claw's Widgets" (basic information)
9. FAQ

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The last version of the guide will be for version 3.30 at the moment. It makes no sense but a lot of work to update both the guide and the wiki. So if you are looking for up-to-date information and instructions on Claw's UCI visit the wiki @ http://claw.wikidot.com/, please.

Might come at a high chance, but a little later since the widgets aren't a direct part of the UI and I am concentrating on this first.

Thanks for your idea!

This evening will come a first update of the guide.

Great idea newone, kudos to you!

Btw, does Claw's UI work on the latest firmware v2.30? I've read so much about it, I can't wait to try it out when I get my S9 this week.

Well, I think so, as the description was always titeled as "x.10". It definetly works with 2.30, since I use that firmware. But maybe you should ask this in the thread of the UI itself.

It most certainly does. It was supposed to say x.10 or newer

I guess I´m still very noobie to the S9 and all these UI´s... So Claw´s UI is just a wallpaper UI?

It has other benefits as well, like you can lock your S9 with a password which is asked everytime you restart the S9, you can create MSC playlists (without having to sync with WMP or anything else over MTP) & other benefits like shake the player to switch song, album etc.

Claw seems to have a Wiki claw.wikidot.com.

Maybe it's an idea to use that as a base for the manual? (With Claw's consent ofcourse).

Well, actually it already does and on some parts the other way round (since I have the honor to help with the wiki ).
But I have to admit that I had a lot of work to do lately and wasn't able to keep the updates coming so both are currently for version 3.26. But I'll try to update soon.
