Is FLAC and OGG really that much better than 320 bit mp3's?
I've honestly never used FLAC or OGG and the 320 bit mp3's sound beautiful to me, as well as being able to transfer to every mp3 player and phone I have. If you are a lover of one of the lossless codecs, what is an example of what it gives you in a specific song? Do you hear some extra instruments when listening to an orchestra? Is there any noticeable difference at all when listening to hip hop/r&b/pop music?

Well I sure as heck cant, or well it might just be that I don't care enough to be able to find any differences. Music sounds pretty flawless at 192kb/s already for me personally. 128kb/s, it depends on the song, and what headphones I use, and how much coffee I've been drinking prior to listening

I can distinguish between 128 and 320 most of the time, but not really when it comes to hip hop/pop music because it's digital sounds without a mic...I know thats not proper terminology and all.
For other music there is a larger difference, but I wonder about the difference between those 320's and the lossless ones. Such as, if you have to sit there in a quiet room with intense focus to even hear any difference. Coffee sounds good right now, and thats after just finishing a Rockstar and a Monster.

well... 320 kbps is kind of weird choice ![]() you got a huge file, with so little difference with 192 kps (mp3 or ogg...) but not lossless (lowpass and other various filter, etc.) moreover, it is a nightmare for people seeking either for lossless or averagely compressed music (transcoding is evil )
