Which S9 are you using? Chrome or Titanium?

Hey, I've decided that I'm going to get a 16GB S9, but now I'm just hung up over the finishes. I really like the fact that the titanium won't show many scratches or fingerprints, but I'm concerned about the hue. Some people say it's a brownish-black, some say it's a grayish tone. Some photos show an awesome looking grayish matte finish, while others show a less desirable brownish-black finish.

So I have a few questions for anyone willing to answer them:
1. Does the titanium finish look brown under certain light and black/gray under other light?
2. Or is it a toss up whether you get a brownish finish or a gray upon ordering?
3. Is the chrome finish chrome all the way through, or just chrome on the sides?
4. If the titanium finish is brownish, does it clash with the rest of the player? Is it really brown, or just brown tinted? Obviously nobody can tell me if I would think it's ugly or not, but a general description is nice.

If you have a titanium S9, pics of it in different lighting would be extremely helpful.

i don't know why some photos on the web make the titanium model look like it has brownish sides. It always looks like a grayish matte color to me. but never, ever brownish.

I just came up with a theory... it could be either the flash of a camera that reflects off all the little divots on the titanium that makes it appear brown. But that still wouldn't explain why some people say it looks brown in their reviews.

lol, but i'm looking at it now...no brown. i've looked at in many different light settings for you. i went under a dimmer light, and slowly turned the light up brighter and brighter... this isn't a shitty light either. it gets really, really bright. and the whole time, from the lowest dimness where it was barely on, to the dimness where it almost blinds you....no brown. i looked at it outside on a very bright, sunny day, and outside on a darker cloudy day...no brown.

i don't know what those people are talking about. it has no brown hue whatsoever.

It is brown. At least a shade of brown. Metallic brown.

I still don't get how some are brown and some are gray... Mf1232, are you by any chance color blind?

yes. actually. but i am not colorblind to browns/silvers/blacks colors like those. i am only colorblind to a lot brighter colors like red/orange/blue/purple/green.

and brown and silver are neither of the latter colors. so setting aside my colorblindness, because i am not colorblind to any of the colors on the s9, i am honestly and truly telling you that it does not look brown at all. i even asked people in all my classes at school, everybody said they saw silver not brown.

Titanium, Chrome always seems tacky to me and very cheap looking.

Sorry if I seemed a bit snooty in that last post, I just don't get how some S9s look brown and others don't. No matter, I'm going with titanium anyway. I really appreciate all you've done to make a poor sap see the light, Mf1232. Thanks. I'll be getting mine on July 3rd. Needless to say, I'm pumped.

i saw the titanium in the store and while i loved it i felt it was less durable and the soft back to the chrome felt less scratchable so i went with the chrome love it.

Yeah, that's pretty weird. I was mulling over the idea of Hesh for a while, but hearing positive things from an audiophile really made the decision for me. :P

I'll definitely give 'em a shot in the future. I'm making a hefty investment already, so the bass boosters will have to wait a bit.

hmm thats strange i have the titanium version all this time i thought it was the chrome one well hey i dont care its very durable. i recomend it have not touched the chrome one if its any less durable not worth it.
