dfkt , the picture of the paint bucket in your last set has a great angle and dof also great colors in the background. Also really like the silhouette of the person on the bridge,

Thanks, Yuki. I wish I had a faster lens, for that photo of the paint bucket (and others as well). :/ Guess it's time for either saving up for the Sigma 50mm 1.4, or getting the EF 1.8 now.

I made the mistake of getting on the rides first instead of taking pictures before the sky turned black. I met an older guy also shooting who paused for a few seconds and looked baffled when I told him I was shooting film. I thought it was a bit ironic.

Really nice stuff. Are you still doing digital at all or strictly film now?

I just ordered a couple rolls of Velvia 50 and a roll of Ilford 100, first experience with slides. I have a couple places I'll be going soon which should be pretty nice for landscape shooting, so I wanna give my AE-1 some work.

Yay for forgetting to take the hood off when using the popup, along with completely stupid settings for flash as well. I even had my Speedlite and shoe cable in my backpack which could have made this shot (and all the shots I took at this place) infinitely better, but that would have made way too much sense. I'll be back ...

Remember the pineapple I was growing here and here, finally had to pick it as it went into a color change indicating it was ready. A little short but it’s a fatty and all natural. I now have 2 others growing from this ones suckers or slips.

Thanks Freddie, I shoot both. I find that when I have a little more time to plan film is very rewarding. I shot some Velvia 100F 2 months ago and both color and grain (or lack of) are amazing. Just make sure to meter correctly for your subject, its not as east to save from under/over exposure as negative film. Have fun!

I actually think I plan and think a lot less with film. I don't have a million blinking lights and readouts telling me when the picture is/isn't going to work, but rather just a needle that merely gives a suggestion for aperture to expose based on. I also don't have the benefit of being able to look at the picture right then, and retake it 5 times. Don't know if I got the shot until I develop, and if I missed it oh well.

That Velvia film is great from what I've seen. Don't even think digital can touch it's saturation. Fuji makes really good film, even down to their disposable cameras which almost always come out better than the Kodaks I do. I usually put a little extra effort into corrections when I get a Fuji roll because the results are generally worth it, unlike Kodak Gold's green/gray/blue tinted crap that 90% of the rolls I've done have. BW400CN is good as far as C41 goes but Gold is a joke.
