Help Need Help with new earphones and s9!!!

Hi there,

At the moment i've got sony mdr-ex71 headphones and have had them for some time but there starting to fall apart now - the rubber arround the headphones.

I was thinking of getting: sennheiser cx500 or c95 or cx550 or Sony mdr-ex500lp. My question is first, which is better and second which is best value for money? I'm able to get the cx500 for £33, the cx95 for £25 - but this is on ebay so , the cx550 for £54 or the sony mdr-ex500lp for about £34/£48 - depends on stock on amazon.

I listen to a mixed variety of music from rock to pop to rap etc you get the point and my mp3 is the cowon s9.

thanks all for ur help

The CX from eBay are 99% fake, buyer beware.

i come from Sennheiser MX 550 and now Philips SHE7850-00 that i found with a better sound quality of MX 550.

i want a good match with the S9.

i listen to Hard Rock and heavy metal music.

Check these Sony iem's out, they have an in-line volume control: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...FFHYG&v=glance

As for the SQ, I really cant say myself.

To be fair the sony bass boosters, wouldn't really give much of, if any, improvement over my current ex-71s and as for ex-36s mentioned above there acutually not as good as the ex-71s - sony works in numerical order i.e ex-71>ex-36. Ironfly might want to have a look at some of the headphones u mentioned though. Any way thx for the input but still someone help, i really can't decide.

I had a nice pair of Sony in-ears that went bad on my a week ago. I got V-Moda Vibe's to replace them, and I am satisfied much more with these than I was with the Sony buds.

You can get them on Amazon.

I also had the ex71 and moved up to the ex90lp. I just recently got some Skull Candy Full Metal Jackets and I am really pleasantly surprised with the sound. I think you would be as well. Clerk at JandR on a recent NYC trip talked me into them and they are not bad at all.

dont get skullcandies. my friend had THREE pairs of full metal jackets, and they ALL broke within a few month (consecutively). i, on the other hand, have never had my ultimate ears break on me, except for a little bit right now

So are the v-moda vibes better than: Sennheiser cx500 or c95 or cx550 or Sony mdr-ex500lp? They seem to be in the same price range and quite popular. Oh and is this correct cx550>cx95>cx500 and the sony mdr-ex500lp lies somewhere in between?

For the Philips she9850's, with 40 something reviews on Amazon.com, you're gonna have to decide on that yourself:

The phillips have excellent amazon reviews but the price tag might be slightly steep for my liking £69 in the uk also:

http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/accessorie...9297287,00.htm

Not sure how reliable this is but it says that it lacks deep bass and doesn't have anything special in regard to treble but has a warm sound. I don't what they're comparing this against but bass and treble are pretty important for me.

Then again:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/mp3/re...g-Earphones/p1

Still though, i'm not really happy spending more than £55 on earphones for the time being, thanks though.

Anyone any thoughts on the headphones in my original post?

I have those headphones too. I like them, good sound for the price, but I'm no audiophile.

I can't speak for those other models. I just know that I am very satisfied with the v-moda vibes.

I Have the V-Moda Vibe, and all I can say is that it worth every single cent spent. There's no mistake, go for it and be happy.
