I just purchased a brand new iAudio U5 but my Mac won't recognize it.
It's directly plugged into the USB port on my Mac. It has finished recharging and turns on right, but it just won't appear on my desktop. Is mine defective? Cowon website says it works with Mac...hmm... |

I hear you, I just got mine today.
There is something wrong with Leopards usb, I had to do Software Update. Seems the best way to get it to recognize after that is to plug in the usb when the U5 says "Starting..." and wait a bit, maybe that's just my voodoo, though. Lame, huh? You'd think Apple would be able to get the usb right, probly too busy polishing their Airs. |

Just plugging it in will turn on the player and pop it up in finder, I learnt.
X Lossless Decoder is the best CD ripper. I can hear the difference between WAV and FLAC, WAV is better in the guitars and the coherence overall, compression tears music.

I found it out accidentally!! I squeezed my U5, accidentally pressing on the middle button for like 2 seconds while the U5 was connected to my Mac, and the iAudio folder just pop appeared on my desktop. Wow, that simple? Thanks everybody. I forgot to say thank you all.
