hehe yeah I haven't even unwrapped my included ear plugs!

What do I think of it? So far so good. A couple of things to sort out but that's mostly me getting used to it.

One thing I noted was much better sound over my old player. Much much better! I'm no audiophile but I could notice it straight away.

I can't even use those earbuds...they don't fit in my ear at all. I have really small ears and the only ones I have found to work well for me are sony's because they have different size inserts for the ear. Of course I have not bought any in about 2 years.....

Well, my comments after getting my 16GB P3 yesterday just mirror what you guys have said. All I can say is WOW! My CX300s have never sounded better. My Zen was decent audio quality but I can definitely hear an improvement with the P3, and I haven't even messed around with all of the EQ features, etc.

Threw the 2.10 firmware on it right away and set my PC to download a couple random torrents while I was sleeping. Copied the files over this morning and they played with no conversion necessary. The video quality is VERY good, which is awesome because that's one of the primary uses I'll have.

A somewhat unrelated question. I'm dual booting with Windows 7 RC right now. I have a TV tuner which I usually use to record shows and then convert them. Anyone know if the P3 will work with the Synch functionality in Windows 7 Media Center? It would be awesome to hook my P3 up to charge overnight and also let it automatically synch over the TV shows so they are ready in the morning.

yup.. I am discovering true breadth with the CX-300's while slacking off some more at work .......jk...!
really nice bass and treble.. mids are a bit weak but nothing a bit of tweaking on the EQ can slightly improve. Am well impressed!

Same experience here...the way songs send their emotion to me with the P3 and Q2 is amazing. Even with the laptop earbuds and 20 year old Sony headphones I first tried them out with.

My wife still don't really care about the difference between P3 sound and iPod Touch sound too much, but she says it is cool when she hears a song on it that she always listens to on the iPod Touch...and hears things she has never heard before. Great to see the look on her face and smile when she is done.

Haven't felt like music was as much of an "experience" as I do with these Samsung players since I was a kid listening to a very, very expensive sound system.

So far I am loving my P3.
Granted it has been only a day so far.
I have not really used my MS-1's yet (for those of you who are not aware what MS-1's are, they are basically Grado SR 80 fined tuned by Alessandro. I definitely need to add a nice pair of earphones, but I must allow my wallet to rest for a while.
I am going to be broke for a few weeks now, so my spending must be circumscribed to its max.

Edit; Well, I am not sure what the issue is, but now the battery bar hit 1, meaning one bar is showing. I find this very strange, because all together I could have not used my P3 for more than 7 hours (and that is a very liberal estimate). Could I have a faulty unit?

i found that after several charges the battery becomes longer in use, so it just needs "breaking in" - mine is fine now, also blurtooth on can decrease better quite fast, there is a thread somewhere with a battery test in by a user

it takes approx 2-5 seconds to start up from 'off'. the bundled earbuds are crap with no body to the sound at all and predatory tendencies towards human ears(:P)...with a half decent pair of earphone or headphones, the true capabilities of the P3 are showcased.

My HP laptop came with better earbuds...Samsung earbuds really are garbage. The basic, affordable IEM's that me and my wife use that cost $18-$30 are leaps and bounds better in every way. Just add that into the cost of a P3 or Q2.

Like anath alludes to with them being predatory...you do not even want to give the Sammy earbuds a day or two of use while picking out other headphones...get them first or at the same time.

I'm guessing Samsung counts on it's consumer being the aficionado who loves aftermarket headphones.

Yeah Samsung are like Cowon now - they don't care about their stock buds.

If they put a good quality headphones the player price will be higher and still not everyone will like those headphones. It's better having the player at a cheap price and just buy a better headphones, a headphones that you feel comfortable with. Some people already have good headphones that they bought before.

Wonder how Sony are able to bundle in sort of decent in-ear phones with their walkmans...

Have to pay for Sony name just like with Apple...wife has a pink Sony Vaio laptop that cost $800 and should of only been $650 or less. Women almost always pick image first, buy more on impulse, and there are more of them to feed the machine.

It's good they usually have good build quality to atleast take away some of the stress of the husbands.
