Nightcaster I think. It didn't get great reviews, but I enjoyed it!

Although these weren't the hardest games I've every played, for me the two most frustrating games were:

- "Amnesia" a text adventure game for the Commodore 64: I could barely last more than a few minutes in the game because my character kept starving to death and I couldn't find food anywhere.

- "Link - Faces Of Evil" for the CDi: Played for days and reached a point where my character was at the bottom of a pit with an enemy. I had no weapon that could kill the enemy (just knock him back a tiny bit) and no way out of the pit. My only options were: (1) just uselessly shoot at the enemy, (3) let the enemy kill me, or (3) turn off the game.

Ahhh, I just remembered a classic game that I was playing when I was like, 7 or so. Last Half of Darkness.

This game was unusually cruel, creepy and just made little sense! You would occasionally jsut be wondering arround and then a effing snake pops out of the drawer you were had opened and kills you.

Here is a youtube video of that game shows you how unfair the game would be to even letting you wander arround ;P

Perfect Dark for the N64 was pretty hard too- loved playing the simulator with all (12?) bots on the hardest setting, particular with the specific sims- vengesim, peacesim, cowardsim- that game rocked!! Shame about 360 version.
F-Zero GX story mode was impossible. They never gave you enough time to do anything. I gave up on it.

I did, however, beat every Grand Prix race on Master, and that was pretty damn tough.

Anyone remember Rogue / Nethack?

Played those for years when I was supposed to be studying ... never did beat them. You can sample that old-timey goodness here .

Oh yeah, I still play that at work and on my phone. Nethack is such an awesome game, have not beaten it. Only made it to the medusa level a few times, still a big rush whenever I get to those "special" stages.

Double Dragon 3 solo is the hardest game I've ever beat, it gets slightly easier with 2 players but not much lol. My friends and i still play it all the time, at least once a month.
