Umm, after 30 days, you invest some money to make sure you have more than 30 days with it. But for the time being, you kick on some bbe effects, and enjoy the ride

Not really sure what your asking? There are plenty of places in the forums where you can find answers to all of your questions. But you will have to do some searching on your own. Your english is getting better but it still is a little hard to understand what you mean

I have seen all the Cowon players in person and was not satisfied with the weight of them Im a big guy and the D2 has the highest storage so that is I went with .After a full day of looking at sony, iriver, cowon, and evey other player avaiable I had to come and ask questions which I know have been answered. just thought a stickie would be nice about enhancing the d2 like you best music video at the end of the list.

Head over to iaudiophile.net forums. Learn how to flash your firmware to D2+, change the themes, and put some flash skins if you are using 3.02 (D2+) or 3.59 (D2) firmware. The D2+ firmware is so worth it. It definitely improves the sound quality when using BBE+. I notice it a lot in the bass.

The biggest difference I have found so far with sound quality is earphones and fit. I had resigned myself to the inconvenience of carrying my Senn PX100 around as I could not live with the sound of the various (low end) in-ear phones I have including Senn CX-300. Then I removed the rubber caps from the CX300s and tried one of the bigger pair supplied, the difference was immense.

I can only assume it increased the distance from the little speaker grille to my ear but suddenly the tinniness in the sound was gone. So, as well as phone choice and D2/D2+ settings earphone fit would appear to be important too. I can imagine listeners sometimes junk their preferred PMP for the wrong reason if they don't get to grips with these variables.

It rather sounds like you got a correct seal with the bigger tips. When in-ear phones don't seal your ear canal properly they usually have no bass and too much treble.

You can always recover the D2 from a bad firmware install, nothing to worry about. Nobody ever "broke" a D2 by doing that. Cowon isn't blocking anything either, it's just a slightly longer procedure to get the D2+ firmware on an old D2 for the first time.

If you bought it in the US and it currently has 2.57, then you need 2.59.

Yeah, if you have a 2.xx firmware on it, it's a non-DMB version of the D2. You can install 2.xx or 3.xx firmwares, whatever you like. The differences between the two are discussed in the thread I linked above.
