Buying a 605 with sound problem

Hi all - I've been offered a 605 unit cheap as Ive been told that when watching video after 5 mins the sound goes crackly (all vidoes..well films at moment)....would this be a firmware upgrade to fix problem? or something more sinister? The unit works fine apart from this and I only want the unit to record video from my helmet / bullet camera....Does this sound like at worst I would still get the footage quality and be able to transfer to computer? Also do I need any add ons to do this? Many Thanks

If it's got a problem, test it by upgrading the fw. Then play a few flics. If the problem is still present, it's got to go. And, if you can't test it before you pay for it, I'd personally pass. Too iffy, and you might be stuck w/a lemon.
