I have a problem witt this UI. After i unrar the files into the FlshUI and i turn on the device nothing happend(no update screen or such). I am i doing something wrong or it just suppose to be that way?

Patch - v3.25.1

This patch only addresses a single issue - inability to double-tap for zoom in Picture viewer.

Hey Claw, I think there is a glitch with the new patch. When I go to flip and try to zoom, the bottom tool bar gets all weird. I have to reset in order to get my zoom setup correct. If I do zoom, and flip, I can't zoom out because I can't flip back until as I mentioned b4, I turn off and turn back on(reset).

Patch v3.26b - BETA

Note that this is a beta update, and as such should only be installed by those willing to put up with potentially serious issues. If you have concernes about loosing settings, having to do Reset, please wait until final version!

Changes

1. Icon Themes - allows built-in icons to be replaced, and themes can be switched on the fly (see below for instructions).
2. Reworked Snap-To-Grid - it really never worked right before.
3. When Snap-To-Grid is enabled and icons are being moved, gridlines will now be displayed by default. You can deactivate them in User Settings -> Menu N -> Show Gridlines

Icon Themes

The Good:

• The themes allow replacing default icons with any other set you can get off the Net.
• Currently only icons placed on the stage are supported (misc icons like Power, Battery, are for later).
• Not all icons have to be redefined, system will load defaults for anything that's missing.
• If you have multiple icon themes install, you can use User Settings to switch between them whenever you like.

The Bad:

• Performance - performance - performance - there is a cost in dynamically loading icons from the filesystem - especially since Cowon's FS I/O is pretty slow. This will likely yield an extra 2-3 second delay when loading main menu - on top of existing delays of loading custom icons.

Some preliminary detail:
Themes will be stored in the following path:
<Cowon>/System/Flash UI/Themes/<Theme Name>
Inside place one or more .png icon. Below is the mapping list, with screen name followed by -> followed by filename to put in:

• Music -> music.png
• Video -> video.png
• Picture Viewer -> pictures.png
• Documents -> documents.png
• Flash -> flash.png
• Browser -> browser.png
• DMB -> dmb.png
• Radio -> radio.png
• Recorder -> recorder.png
• Dictionary -> dictionary.png
• Utilities -> utilities.png
• Settings -> settings.png
• 'Return Arrow' -> return_arrow.png
• Calculator -> calculator.png
• User settings -> user_settings.png
• Bluetooth toggle -> bluetooth.png
• Notepad -> notepad.png
• Playlist Manager -> playlists.png
• Hunter -> game_hunter.png
• Icon Manager -> icon_manager.png

Prep Work:

1. Create subdirectory System/Flash UI/Themes
2. Install a theme into a subdirectory (download Crystal Theme below if you like). You should have something like System/Flash UI/Themes/Crystal directory structure. Inside Crystal should be icons like the ones named above.
3. Create a text file called themes.txt in System/Flash UI/Themes directory. This file will identify all installed themes. Theme node is repeating, so just list all the themes you have there:
   <Themes>
   <Theme name="Crystal"/>
   <Theme name="Orbs"/>
   </Themes>
4. Go to User Settings -> Menu 1 -> Icon Theme (page 5).
5. You should see all themes you identified in the Themes file, and a 'None' as a selection.
6. Select a theme.
7. Go back to main menu - your themes should load.

Beta Software:
This is a beta. Please make sure to back up your SOL directory, and have a Reset pin ready. In early coding I used to get a few freezes - none recently - but it does not mean anything .
If you encounter a freeze - let me know exactly what happened:
- Did you go to another UI and came back to menu 1 and then it froze?
- Did it freeze when you tried to run another icon?
- etc.
Also - let me know what you think of the delay in loading the menu - is it acceptable? Assuming there is no way to get it to load faster, would you even bother using icon themes???Things to keep in mind:
1 - Any icon size can be loaded, but if its smaller than 68x68 I create an overlay up to that size at least.
2 - The larger file size, the slower loading - so keep images at 10kb or less.
3 - If things are bad, turn off themes by setting Icon theme to "None'.

Note that the patch only includes mainmenu1.swf ... thus only tweak Menu 1 settings!

A couple of quick questions:

I have no other themes or UCIs on the S9 than yours. Do I still need to create the <Cowon>/System/Flash UI/Themes/<Theme Name> path? If so, what do I call it? If not, where do I load the icons? I've never used the custom icon manager, so I'm starting from scratch Edit - stupidity proven - I just download the mainmenu1.swf patch, right?!

As much as I like your crystal theme icons, I'm still really smitten with the widget icons in the widget toolbar display. As per previous request before replacing default icons was possible - is it now possible to extract them and use them as default icons? As you know, I'm a Flashtard, I've tried to find and view those icons in irfanviewer, but can't do it.

I see no huge delays with my current setup, I presume it's the lack of the above, and other tweaks (no games, clocks etc - no extra apps at all, and one photo apart from 4 wallpapers). Can I still expect 2-3 seconds on top of current loading time?

Theme Name would be 'Crystal' - its actually for Icon Themes, not UCIs.
You would install all three files I attached ... which is menu1, launcher, and user_settings ...

Yes - they can be extracted and used - anyone can build a theme now and install it using any icons they want ... I'll see if I can extract them myself.

hello all just got my S9. I LOVE IT. All my movies look beautiful (terminator 2 ftw!) and my music sounds amazing. The UI is great and i am fast getting used to it but im confused as how to get Claw's UI working. I put the files in the Flash UI folder but when i turn my S9 on i cant find any of these new settings and what not. I have the Hunter game now and there is a third little icon on the bottom but as i said i have no idea how to customize anything. I just downloaded the newest Pack which was uploaded and as the guide says, copied all those files and pasted em in there. I didnt put them in the SOL folder (what ever that means) so maybe that is the problem. Maybe i am just missing something so im sure someone will be able to make me feel silly haha. Thanks

Huh? The "SOL" folder isn't even mentioned in the installation part (first mentioned for uninstall). It contains files about stored information of your settings (which would be saved there, for example the user settings of the UI, but the highscores of hunter as well).

In the utilities folder (in the main menu, not the directory of the player, the same folder as the hunter icon) should be an icon for "User Settings" along some other new ones (Playlist Manager, Custom Icon Manager, ...). Make sure you use one of the two main menus for this. The User Settings are not available in the 3rd menu (accessible by the third "new" menu icon). Do you have firmware x.30 installed? Does your hunter game really work or do you have just the icon for it?

Did you recognize that version 3.26b of Claw's UI is just a patch? You will have to download a full version first if this was your first install. That would be version 3.25 on the first page of this thread. (I guess that would be my favorite to make you feel silly )

I figured it out. I had to click on the first 6 dots on the bottom instead of the third one.
