Has anyone installed the new boot loader on an E2xxR (rhapsody) series player yet? I have the newest RB build with USB support installed but have been unable to get the new boot loader installed so that the player will boot RB instead of the OF. Thanks for your help.

I don't have an e200R just a regular e200 and have installed both the bootloader and usbRockbox and everything is working splendidly.

Here's the link again to dl the bootloaders. There maybe an updated e200R bootloader.

Edit: scroll down the tracker page to get an e200R bootloader dl link.

Default What does "USB Support" mean?

What does that do in terms of Rockbox operation?

Before this improvement, if you wanted to load music or other media to your rockboxed Sansa you had to connect it to your computer while using the original Sansa firmware. Now you can load music (and charge your battery) directly from Rockbox. You never have to load the original firmware. So now Rockbox has complete functionality. żEs claro?

When connected to PC via USB cable, it still switching to the OF. Why? Shouldn't my E200 can be now capable to charge and transfer files via USB using the RockBox system?

What do you mean with "latest". Neither the latest *released* bootloader, nor the latest *released* Rockbox feature USB on the Sansas. You need a current build, and a bootloader built from SVN.

as kugel said you need the current Rockbox build and the e200 test bootloader.

if you have the new bootloader and latest Rockbox build (USB supported) when turning on your player it boots into Rockbox and not into the OF. You can then update Rockbox and charge your Sansa without using OF at all!...priceless

Hes asking if you can update rockbox while in rockbox. And you can, in fact we have a feature called rolo that automatically reboots into the updated firmware upon USB disconnect.

Default How many hours?

Just loaded the current build, and seems to work fine. I recharged my 260 & at 100%, it says I have 25 hours remaining. 25?! Are people getting anywhere close to that, now? I was pulling 15, maybe 16 before. That would be a huge +.
Oh, and THANK YOU Rockbox Developers!

The battery life estimation assumes a new battery, but yeah, its vaguely close to accurate, at least for MP3.

Over a week ago I had installed build 20324 and the new (test) bootloader for 3.2, and was able to connect via USB while staying in Rockbox. Today I installed 3.2 and experienced the problem of the player continuously rebooting itself whenever USB connection is made while in Rockbox. I booted into the OF and reran sansapatcher, and the reboot problem goes away but the player would reboot into the OF whenever USB connection is made while in Rockbox. However, rolling back to build 20324 or upgrading to the build 20543 would restore the desired behavior of staying in Rockbox when connected via USB.

As is noted in the release notes, 3.2 doesn't have the Rockbox USB mode enabled. It didn't pass all of our requirements for inclusion in this release. If you simply use a recent Current Build instead of the release build, it is still enabled in those.

I just found in Rockbox 3.2 Release Notes the explanation for the problem I had experienced: "... the USB stack is not enabled for the 3.2 release. It's only enabled in current development builds".
