Hi everybody,
I usually get my videos from youtube using ***.*******.*** in order to save them in a mp4 format. When I read them on my computer, there is no problem, however on my walkman, 2 times out of 3, it says : file format is not supported. Do you have an idea why some file generated through the same way do not give the same results ? Thanks Last edited by The DarkSide; 03-01-2009 at 02:33 AM. |

Probably the size. Walkman wants no more than 320 pix wide, though it can be less than 240 tall. I just downloaded a random youtube vid and looking at the specs I see that it is 352 pix wide. I'd try something that gives you more control over the conversion. Especially scaling.

thanx a lot for the answer, I would be delighted if you find any solution. Atleast I have explanation now. Do you know how I can look at the spec before in order to know if I will be able to view the video or not. Thanks

Better yet get Any Video Converter, (AVC) and you can watch any You Tube video. You click the You Tube button, copy and paste the URL into the box, select the Customized MP4 profile, set Video Codec to x.264, size to 320x240, Bitrate to 768 or 512 to keep the size down, audio bitrate to what you want (I think 96 is fine) and hit convert. When it's done downloading it converts and when that is done you just hit the Output Folder button on bottom left so you can drag the file to the video folder. Or use WMP or Media Manager if you want.
The site to download it is here: http://www.**************************/p...or_video_free/ |
