Default Getting youtube files on sansa e250

Hi,

I recently installed rockbox, and I really like it. However, I want to be able to watch Youtube vids on it. Through various video conversion methods, I've been able to get the mpg videos onto the play, and I can watch them. However, I can't seem to figure out how to get sound. I've tried everything I can think of, and no sound. This is true of any video I convert, including Xvid DVD rips.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Isaac

Default Firefox plug-in Download Helper

If you use Firefox, Download Helper works nicely for this.

I just tried a website called Zamzar. I chose the mpg option, and when I got the link, it worked on Rockbox w/ sound, but it was too big. I could only see the upper left hand corner of the video.

Any thoughts?

It's because the resolution for the video is too big. When it's encoded into mpeg, it must be at a resolution of (I think) 220x176 (it may be slightly different, check rockbox.org for more accuracy).

it does but first you have to install the convertion app by going into

downloadheper>preferences and clicking the link to install it

after installing it you can set conversion rules

downloadheper>preferences>configure convertion rules
you can then either edit the default configuration or create a new one

my settings are
output MPEG1 system format
Extension MPG
Video codec mpeg2video
Audio codec libmp3lame
bitrate 800kbps
framerate 24
framesize 220x176
audiofrequency 44100

even though if you don't buy the conversion software there's a watermark on the top-left of the video i dont mind it

Me, I use a program called Any Video Converter. It downloads YouTube videos pretty nicely, and I think it could convert straight to Rockbox compatable mpeg video files, but I've never tried. I prefer to dowlnoad them at their usual size and what not, so I can use them for other things to.
Also, it's share-ware, but there is no watermark left behind on any of my videos, and the only limitations seems to be "You can't convert DVD files unless you purchase this software, aight?"
