I was concerned about the screen the first week. Stopped paying attention since. Not a single mark on it aside from fingerprints.

On the other hand - the sticker on the back is peeling off

First thing I did was ripping that sticker off.

I took that sticker off too, just annoyed by as otherwise the back is pretty smooth. And as for scratches - absolutely none so far and I haven't exactly been to forgiving to it by leaving it in pockets with keys, change and on one occasion a lot of thumb tacks.

Although it doesn't scratch it does attract a LOT fingerprints, though that's really a problem inherent in any sort of touchscreen.

Thats my problem solved then no screen protector for my S9.

I have ordered one of those clear plastic cases that protect the back and sides from AMP3.co.uk. That should stop the sides (the area i am most worried about) from being scratched.

You really don't need any case for it. It's perfectly sturdy and scratch resistant. It's almost surreal... ()

The only reason for a case would be if you throw it in a purse with other dangerous objects or simply want to clip it to your belt. Other than that the S9 looks like it could survive pocket travel with no skin.

in case anyone was wondering.. the zagg/invisibleshield is "ok" on the s9.. but I took it off. the screen is tough enough. I did keep the shield just in case later on I start seeing something, but from what i'm hearing it won't be a problem.

and it actually attracts and shows MORE fingerprints with the shield on it. bleh.

I wonder if it would be possible for real to make a "perfect" screen. Perfect meaning it wouldn't scratch, still be sturdy, not too reflective, and not so attractive to fingerprints. S9 has all IMO, except for the last one. That would really be the icing of the cake.

There are keyboard out there that will kill any bacteria that touches them, but you'll need a living slime on your touchscreen to eat the finger oils. I can live with a few fingerprints.

Mine is scratched! I am not sure how, but once I noticed a little line I can't not wipe clean, and it came to my attention that it is a real scratch. :'(

Get yourself some of that stuff they use to fix scratches in car glass.

It's some sort of sollution that fills the gap and gets hardened.

It'll make that scratch non-visible.
