In the next couple of days my 16GB S9 will be delivered.
Its going to be quite a step up from my Panasonic SV-MP710V with Sennheiser CX300 im going to replace my in CX300 with something better but first i really need a set of headphones that i can use indoors and will do the S9 justice Ive been looking through loads of reviews and ive come down to these 4 1. Sennheiser HD 555 (£57) 2. Grado Sr60 (£80) 3. Grado Sr80 (£90) 4. Alessandro MS1 (£70+import tax) im also wanting a Cmoy amp and wondered if the Penguin tin amps on ebay would be good enough for these earphones? Nathan |

just fancied an open ear style headphone to listen to in the house and these 4 fall with the budget and all have good reviews. Juts wondered which out of the 4 folk consider to be the best, if there are alternatives that are better id love to know about them

been doing yet more research on which set of headphones to buy and ive decided on these babies, Denon AH-D2000.
decided that it would be better to have closed back phones if im sitting with my wife while shes watching telly, that way we all win ![]() Nathan |

Heh, from well under 100£ to over 200£ in less then 2 days?
![]() Well they defineatly look like a good choice nontheless. Thought about getting a pair to try myself, but they aren't so easy to get, atleast not within reasonable prices. |

Thats the problem when you start out with a budget and reading reviews.
you read a review of the item you like, but in it they refer to another similar item that is just that bit better and slightly more expensive, and on it goes....... |

i was able to actually try out the Sennheiser HD555, grado Sr60 & Sr80's today.
i tried the HD555 first and thought they were superb, a big change from my usual listening style, im used to CX300's. Very light and airy sound with some nice bass. Then i tried the Sr60's and was blown away, listened to the same track and the difference was amazing. the track had a lot more body and warmth to it and made the hd555's sound a bit tinny. The Sr80's were even better, justa bit more refined and clearer. so now my dilema is go for the Sr 80 or stump up more cash for the Denon AH-D2000 so i can sit in the same room with wife and not annoy her with a set of open can's. |

Or then ask advancedmp3players.co.uk if they wouldn't mind letting you audition there headphones at their shop in Edinburgh Ocean Terminal. |
